Summit Oaks, one of the longest standing psychiatric and chemical dependence centers in New Jersey has been serving children, adolescents and adults within the Northeast region for over 90 years.
Our dedicated, multidisciplinary team consists of board certified, master’s level professionals, MDs, PhDs, RNs and addiction specialists who ensure a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health symptoms and a desire to live a healthy lifestyle.
Our 126-bed facility, located in beautiful, suburban Summit, offers comprehensive evaluations, crisis intervention and stabilization programs for patients in need of a safe environment. Our proven programs help patients recover through brief, in-patient care, intensive outpatient programs and innovative, ongoing support programs like alumni support groups.

IN-patient Treatment
PRIDE Institute has been affiliated with Summit Oaks Hospital since 2000 and is an accredited in-patient program devoted to the treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons.
PRIDE Institute offers an affirming environment where healing and growth are possible, and where individuals and their families transcend the heterosexism and homophobia that often destroy the spirit.
PRIDE Institute aims to provide treatment to GLBT with dual diagnosis problems, through an interdisciplinary team model combining psychoeducational, psychological, and pharmacological interventions with 12 step and relapse prevention approaches.
