Admissions Counselor

J Heinz has been with Pride Institute since 2016 as an admissions counselor. Heinz is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ people and greatly values the way everyone learns from each other and works to build a stronger community.

Their favorite part of the job is connecting and working with patients through the admissions process and playing a part of their recovery path.

When Heinz isn’t working, they enjoy crafting, making linoleum stamps and hanging out with their cat.

Mel Owen

Admissions Supervisor

Mel Owen brings more than fifteen years of experience in admissions and acute mental health and substance abuse intake to the Pride Institute team, which she joined in 2013.

Her calm and compassionate demeanor shows devotion to helping people in the LGBTQ+ community who are dealing with addiction and mental health issues. She is passionate about connecting them to the help and hope they need. When she’s not working she enjoys the outdoors with her family and friends.
